THE COLOR OF AIR
With an inspired rethinking of conventional renovation, dimension and nuanced refinement has been introduced into otherwise ordinary rental apartments left untouched since the cold war.
By radically altering the floor plans in each of the units, spaces were revitalized to better suit contemporary lifestyles. While carving new layouts the supporting walls were stepped bare, revealing the original brick bones of the building that were then bathed in a gentle white-wash finish. Other walls were punched with wide oval windows permitting light and air into previously claustrophobic hallways.
